Entrance and training to Archery
Valentina Acosta Giraldo stated that the novel and film adaptation of “The Hunger Games” was a source of motivation for her before beginning her training in Archery. After being selected for the Colombian National Team, she immediately began a training regimen that included four hours of work beginning at eight in the morning. When she was a college student, she made it a habit to return to class once she finished her workout.
Several stories claim that Giraldo trained twice as long as she normally does in the weeks leading up to the World Youth Archery Championships and that she participated in daily sessions lasting eight hours with a focus on high intensity. She could triumph over other talented archers from various nations and win the 2019 World Archery Youth Championship after putting in the effort to prepare thoroughly and accurately. Giraldo is thinking of competing in the Olympics sometime in the not-too-distant future.
But before she went to Spain and won the gold, she was at a crossroads in her life two years ago, trying to figure out where she was and which path she wanted to pursue to get where she wanted to be. She had just turned 17 when she finished high school, and at that point, she was evaluating her life and considering her options. Valentina was in a difficult position since she had to choose between devoting her full time to the sport, dividing her time between training and her education, or concentrating only on her academics.
How Valentina Acosta gets along with the rest of her family
When she decided to pursue Archery as a career, her parents were there to support and guide her through every life stage, instilling in her the values of dedication and perseverance from an extremely young age. She said lots of people were unhappy with the decisions she had chosen but that her parents and other loved ones were always there to protect her and keep her sheltered from the harsh facts of the outside world as she pursued her goal of becoming an expert in the profession of her choosing. Her parents encouraged her to “Do what makes you happy and what you love,” and she always listened to their advice.
After the victory in Madrid, she was eager to express her gratitude to her family, which is one reason why. Her parents got to witness her perform on an international platform for the first time, and they stood up with pride when the Colombian national song was the only sound coming from the Madrid speakers after winning. Her hard work paid off in a huge way on the world scene.
At this point, Valentina focused on the activities that brought her the greatest joy, prioritising her participation in athletics over her education in academic subjects. She started shooting arrows, and before long, she was competing on an international level and making history.
