Best place to visit in South America # 3 – Salento, Colombia

Salento is the most exciting place to visit in all of Colombia. You can trek amid all of these tall palm trees peculiar to this region if you go hiking in the lovely Valle del Cocora (also known as Cocora Valley) in Salento. I have never encountered anything remotely like that.

To do Salento justice, you will need to spend at least two nights in Salento and spend your entire day hiking the loop trail at Valle del Cocora up to the Finca Acaime. Here, you can take a break, enjoy some nice warm coffee, and get a close-up look at the stunning hummingbirds in the area.

The path should continue to head downward toward Cocora Valley, where you will find all of the tall palm palms spread out across an open valley. Because of its proximity to Andes Mountain, you will have a wide variety of alternatives to choose from when it comes to hiking routes. Hiking to Laguna 69 is one of the nicest day hikes you can do in Peru, and you can take it as part of a day trip if you have enough time.

Suppose you are searching for a more adrenaline-pumping sport to do in Huaraz. In that case, you may go on an ice climbing trip, hike the Santa Cruz path for four days, or spend ten days hiking the Huayhuash Trail, which is widely regarded as one of the greatest trails to hike anywhere in the world.

When you are not interested in hiking, you can take several day trips to visit many beautiful natural spots, such as the Pastoruri Glacier.
